Abstract

Over the last few years KLM has suffered from the financial crisis, severe market pressure and competitiveness. On 15 october 2014 the CEO of KLM Camiel Eurlings was fired and Bob van der Wal, chairman of the Union of Higher KLM Personel stated in the Volkskrant: “Eurlings is good, but in this crisis situation, he is not good enough”. This paper addresses the Adaptive Cycle of Change to explain the current crisis phase of KLM, how they got there and what the company does to return into equilibrium phase.
